GaultMillau and Michelin Guide Restaurants
The people of Lake Geneva Region appreciate good food as much as they love good wines and this appreciation has helped give the Lake Geneva Region a worldwide reputation for the excellent quality of its cooking and the high standard of its products. In fact when it comes to the arts of the dining table the “Vaudois“ make every effort to satisfy.
Whether with local specialities, traditional dishes, business meals or gastronomy banquets, the food offered by many catering establishments is second-to-none in terms of quality and creativity.
This is particularly the case at the Restaurant Hotel de Ville in Crissier, managed today by Philippe Rochat, who succeeded the renowned Frédy Girardet after 20 years. But the Lake Geneva Region offers other fine choices in the cornucopia of Swiss gourmet cooking. These include Gérard Rabaey’s Le Pont de Brent in Brent-sur-Montreux, Bernard Ravet’s Ermitage in Vufflens-le-Château, Denis Martin’s Restaurant du Château in Vevey or Carlo Crisci’s Le Cerf in Cossonay. There are a total of 97 restaurants selected by the GaultMillau. With 1314 points and 19 stars (the Guide Michelin), the Lake Geneva Region is the capital of Swiss Gastronomy.
